I started as a DJ for High School and Church functions along with being the lead singer in a "Big Hair Metal Band" Playing up and down I-75. In 1990 I landed my first real night club gig at a place near the University of Cincinnati called Burgandys/Primetime. I was the DJ for Rock Nights. Around the same time, the local cable operator in NKY was offering classes in video and sound engineer. So, I signed up along with a couple of buddies and we had the opportunity to learn everything they wanted to throw at us. Our final test was to write, produce, video, star and edit and air our own show."WEASELS ADDICTIVE THERAPY" and we were doing Jackass on MTV way before it was popular or thought of with Sketch Comedy. Should have learned about copyrights........LOL I joined the Navy during the Gulf War and was stationed in San Diego, CA (yeah smart move on the Military to stick me in the middle of Southern California with my dreams of becoming a Rock Star). After all the fireworks were over and we came back home I spent my spare time when not on duty meeting people in the "business." So, I started hanging out at local Rock Clubs and also we had some pretty happening clubs on base. Radio Stations do a lot more promoting out west then they do around here. I guess you can say I became a radio groupie going to where they were doing promo remotes. I became really good friends with Todd Kelly from Rock 105 in San Diego and he got me a gig doing Promos at clubs and since I had a connection for the Naval Bases as well. Then I got a couple of gigs as a karaoke host and enjoyed it as well. We had a few local girls that would come out on base and hang out and they got me even more gigs as fill in DJ for pretty popular clubs in San Diego. (I even spun records in Tijuana, Mexico!! Night clubs are pretty wild down there. I also got my first taste of the Swinger Lifestyle from a private party in upscale Torrie Pines and had the time of my life with this party!! I reluctantly came back to Kentucky at the end of my enlistment in 1997 because my then wife wanted to raise out daughter back home. So, I had to support my DJ habit by doing something else I do quite well, COOK. I took a couple of Jobs Managing restaurants and I also drove a Limo, did a few stints on public radio and college radio and you guessed it.....Played in another Band. In 1999 I was going to school for Pro Wrestling and doing roadie work and also writing, selling ads for a local music paper. Got a chance to meet some great people who I idolized in music, Dave Hlubeck, Jackson Spires. Both of those guys taught me a lot in a short period of time. No matter how far fetched my dreams are, live them. My divorce in 2000 opened my eyes to just start my own business and Just DJ. Why be in a band that you split the money with people you really do not like for the most part, and bust my ass in a Kitchen for long hours for little pay. I started Rock N Roll Nickol Productions and was all over Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana doing weddings, karaoke and night club DJ once again. I got a great gig sub contracting weddings and private parties from Andy Scott who truly taught me a lot and still does to this day about the business. I really do appreciate everything he has done for me and I continue to do a gig for him to this day. We have a regular following of people who will come and listen to your style of DJ and hang out and party with you as well. I had a couple of Strippers ask me to come to their place and try out as DJ. One of the Cincinnati Area premiere Gentlemen's Clubs and got the gig. I loved the money and the parties!! The same Stripper turned me on to a Swingers Club in the Cincy area as well. Pay sucked, but it did give me the chance to meet an extraordinary person.....The Decadent one herself......Decadent Jaz. She has truly "discovered" this hidden talent Known as DJ Tony. Jaz has hooked the tubby one up with some great gigs and private parties. She also introduced me to other members in the lifestyle and got the interest of a Radio show on a site. We wanted to do it right so it took some time due to my schedule and finding a good enough program and a little more knowledge on how to do it. That was New Years Eve 2007. I guess you can say I got pretty lucky by getting a gig on the net with another netcast show that supplied me with everything I needed to broadcast. And by yet more luck, they went under and here I now have the equipment and knowledge on netcasts....."OH Mike, guess what I have!!" After many trying times and errors and such we now have what sits before you........ROCK in the USA. I have to say I have a great group of friends helping me live out my dreams. This is what I do, I do not pretend to this. THIS IS MY LIFE, and my passion. I just do not do this a couple of days a week and call myself a DJ, I have paid my dues up and down the road from every redneck joint to premiere club. From average Joes to porn stars and dignitaries I have entertained them all................AND LOVE EVERY MINUTE OF IT. I dedicate this show to all my friends and listeners.
